Ever since ancient times, from Far East to Greece, it was widespread the practice to pour some bath salts in the water for daily cleansing, which had beneficial and healing effects on the skin and body for example to reduce muscular pain or skin diseases, to relax, relieve, and reduce skin imperfections. During the centuries this practice was handed down until today and it has become a real treat that enriches a moment of relax like the moment of the evening bath.

 

BATH SALTS, PROPERTIES AND VARIETIES

Bath salts are small crystals that dissolve in the water. Often the salts are made more precious and elegant with the addition of essential oils, scents and other ingredients that make them more pleasant, boost their advantages and encourage the use. Salts can be used at home or by professionals, in beauty salons and spa. Many kinds of salts are used in cosmetics, each with its own properties and qualities.

 

VARIETIES OF MALÍ BATH SALTS

The types of salts chosen by Malí are five and very particular:

 

Hawaiian red salt, traditional Hawaiian salt characterized by the red clay of volcanic origin which when drying enriches the salt with iron. While it’s not easy to obtain, this salt has the surely the merit to guarantee a spectacular effect which, together with the cleansing and smoothing effects, helps to revive the skin and to restore the ph.

 

Dead Sea salts, a natural remedy which is a useful integration in the anti-cellulite treatments and to improve the water retention. The mineral salts that can be found in the Dead Sea water stimulate and reinvigorate the skin cells, giving beauty and softness.

 

Persian blue salts, it’s a rock salt very rare and expensive characterized by a color which turns towards blue thanks to sylvite i.e., potassium chloride. It has therapeutic and antibacterial characteristics, and it helps the blood circulation, regulating the water balance and it has a relieving effect on muscles thanks to its high content of magnesium.

 

Himalaya pink salt, it’s a rock salt extracted from the mine in Khewra, Pakistan which owes its color to iron oxide. It’s a raw salt that doesn’t undergo refining processes. It’s useful to reactivate the microcirculation and favors the cell renewal.

 

Breton whole grey salt, extracted in the northwest of France, in Guerande saline, it’s a raw salt that doesn’t undergo contaminations nor whitening processes and it’s rich of trace elements and minerals. It owes its grey color to the high quantity of magnesium available in the natural clay in which the process of crystallization takes place.

 

WHICH ARE THE BENEFITS OF BATH SALTS?

But what are the bath salts for? Even if apparently they are useful only to give scent and color to your bath, the salts can have healing proprieties which surely act against stress, depending on the kind of salt and on the ingredients which enrich its formulation.

BATH SALTS FOR A REGENERATING FOOTBATH

A footbath at the end of the day is always a good idea, warm in winter to improve the circulation and cold in summer to reduce swelling of the feet and ankles suffering for the summer heat. A handful of salts dissolved in a bowl is enough to enrich the water and give a moment of wellbeing.

 

HEATED BATH SALTS FOR BACK PAIN

Heated bath salts can be a good remedy against muscle tension and back pain: heated in the microwave or in a small pan and then put in a cloth bag and placed on the area to treat, they give relief thanks to their properties.
